Caleb Lane

My name is Caleb Lane. The reason why I made this CD, and wrote these songs, is to give glory to my Saviour, Friend, and Comforter, Jesus Christ, who has been with me every step of the way. At the age of 5 I was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (a muscle wasting disease). This was of great shock to my parents, but because of their strong faith in Christ they were able to carry on and provide for me a loving home. At that same age I decided to give my life to Jesus, I simply asked Him to take control of my life and use it for His Glory. Life wasn’t easy after that, my muscles continued to weaken, things I once could do I couldn’t do any more. Eventually when I was 8 years old, I ended up using a manual wheelchair, then a power chair, and because of the progression of the disease I eventually couldn’t do anything for my self. I couldn’t feed, dress or wash myself, everything had to be done for me. It was very frustrating, but because my Hope and confidence was in Christ, I had nothing to worry about. As I grew in my faith I began to understand more of who Jesus was and to trust Him more. That trust was put to the test when I developed pneumonia and went into respiratory arrest and had to be resuscitated. As the doctors and nurses gathered around me all I could do was sing and worship Jesus, what else could I do but trust Him and give Him praise? God wasn’t finished with me yet, he kept me alive for a reason. I went on to record the first album of my favorite worship songs. Then I began to write songs to express my heart before God and to give Him glory. With the help of my cousin Steven Lane we put this CD together. It’s been a tough road, I am now 19 years of age, but I can testify that God truly is “The Ever Faithful God”, and if you simply put your trust in Jesus He will guide you through this life and give you hope to face each day.

God Bless you, Caleb. Song lyrics available at: www.caleblane.org
