OVER 2,000 ABORTIONS FOR EACH BABY THAT’S ADOPTED

Thousands of children are being aborted for every adopted baby in Britain, a leading pro-life doctor has warned.

Dr Peter Saunders, chief executive of the Christian Medical Fellowship, highlighted that 203,444 abortions were performed on UK residents in 2009. However, in stark contrast just 91 babies under the age of one were adopted during the same year.

These figures mean that during 2009 for every baby adopted 2,235 terminations were performed. The findings are likely to reignite concern about the UK’s abortion rate, and increase calls for more to be done to promote adoption.

MP SAYS BBC’S ASSISTED SUICIDE REPORTING IS ‘TOTALITARIAN’

The chairman of the All-Party Parliamentary Pro-Life Group has likened the BBC’s biased reporting of assisted suicide to “the practices of a totalitarian state.”

Jim Dobbin MP said the BBC’s reporting of assisted suicide is reminiscent of attempts to “control debate and manipulate opinion.”

The BBC has produced five pro-assisted suicide programmes in three years, with the latest fronted by pro-assisted suicide campaigner Sir Terry Pratchett.

This summer, in an Early Day Motion (EDM) proposed by Mr Dobbin, MPs expressed their dismay at what critics have called the BBC’s “cheerleading” of assisted suicide.

Mr Dobbin accused the BBC of ignoring its own guidelines on impartiality and also of disregarding the World Health

Organisation’s guidelines, which state that publicity about suicides in the media is one of the many factors that may lead a vulnerable individual to commit suicide.

TV SOAPS TO INTRODUCE MORE GAY STORYLINES

Popular soaps EastEnders and Emmerdale are set to launch three more homosexual characters between them in the coming months.

ITV soap Coronation Street has already caused a storm of controversy with its homosexual characters – and some of its

former stars have expressed doubts about its growing number of same-sex plotlines.

Now it has emerged that teenager Ben Mitchell, son of Phil, is set to have a homosexual storyline in EastEnders and Emmerdale is to introduce a lesbian couple.

This summer TV personality Brian Sewell hit out at the excessive number of homosexual characters on Coronation Street. Mr Sewell, who is himself bisexual, also said soaps were being used as “sexual propaganda.”

In May former Corrie star Nick Cochrane commented on the number of same-sex storylines in the soap. He said, “How many streets in Britain would have schoolgirl lesbians, gay married couples, a transsexual and children to gay couples? It is a little bit far-fetched.”

US ATHEISTS WANT CROSS REMOVED FROM SEPTEMBER 11 MEMORIAL

Atheists are going to court in America to stop a 9/11 memorial museum in New York from featuring steel beams found standing upright in the shape of a cross amid the rubble of the attacks.

The beams were seen by many New Yorkers as a beacon of hope for the city following the tragedy. But American Atheists, the group who brought the lawsuit, say the cross is an unconstitutional mingling of church and state, and a breach of ‘equality’.
